Christmas is over now, finally, and so is New Year's, which means we can get back into the non-holiday routine of everyday life.  For a good number of us, that routine will include incorporating into our lives the brand new iPads we got for Christmas, but as can happen with new technology there are plenty rookie users that don't have the slightest idea of what that tech is capable of.  Truth be told?

Twenty years ago, nobody would've even considered thinking of something this crazy, mostly because twenty years ago nobody was as concerned with the environment as we are today.  Still, a system that recycles rotting waste from a landfill into reusable energy for a BMW manufacturing plant is absolutely genius.

Sometime in 2012, BMW plans to implement exactly this sort of system at their Rosslyn plant in Pretoria, South Africa.

Many of us make the assumption that product placement in TV and film only benefits the movie studios and the advertisers, but in the case of BMW's current partnership with the upcoming blockbuster "Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol," the fans and BMW customers get their opportunities to benefit from the partnership as well.

Times change.  It's just the reality of the world, and unfortunately, they don't always change the way we want them to.  I remember once in high school there was a candy machine that had a glitch where it if you hit the right sequence of numbers, it would spew out M&Ms and Skittles for eternity, or until the candy ran out, whichever was first.  For a day, my friends and I ate?

When hybrid cars first started becoming popular, a lot of automakers kind of shrugged the whole thing off as a fad.  Sure, gas prices were more astronomical than actual astronomy and have only gotten worse, but because early hybrids were so much less powerful than their all-gas counterparts, some companies rightfully believed that they wouldn't last.

So if hybrids wouldn't last, certainly all-electric vehicles were an even bigger joke, right?  I mean, right?
