As far as traditions go, BMW's Art Car is one of the cooler ones in the auto world.  Every handful of years for almost four decades, BMW has commissioned a renowned artist to take one of their vehicles and turn it into something artistic.  At first the focus was just on BMW vehicles that appeared in races, but over time that has changed so that now pretty much any of the German automakers' models?

Pandora, the personalized internet radio service that's taking both the automotive world and actual world by storm, was recently given BMW's Supplier Innovation Award in the New Business Model category, and it shouldn't be any secret as to why.  Officially, the accolade is handed out to a nominee that has proven to be an "outstanding innovation in vehicle technology," but unofficially, it won because it's pretty much the coolest thing to?

But now, a new headlight trend seems headed for Tampa BMW lots, something that could be even cooler and more technologically impressive than LED's and the revolution they've inspired?

When hybrid cars first started becoming popular, a lot of automakers kind of shrugged the whole thing off as a fad.  Sure, gas prices were more astronomical than actual astronomy and have only gotten worse, but because early hybrids were so much less powerful than their all-gas counterparts, some companies rightfully believed that they wouldn't last.

So if hybrids wouldn't last, certainly all-electric vehicles were an even bigger joke, right?  I mean, right?
