Many of us make the assumption that product placement in TV and film only benefits the movie studios and the advertisers, but in the case of BMW's current partnership with the upcoming blockbuster "Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol," the fans and BMW customers get their opportunities to benefit from the partnership as well.

I think we can all agree that just having BMW vehicles in a huge movie like MI4 is a good thing in and of itself, but BMW has put together a few contests and promotions in conjunction with the film, which stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, and "Lost's" Josh Holloway.  For starters, several BMW dealers have been given permission to offer special screenings of the film for their most loyal customers, but the automaker also will be giving away a free trip to the U.S. premier of the film on December 16.

There also will be "self-destructing" sales offers at a number of dealerships that run now through January 2nd, a perfect way to tie in an iconic piece of dialogue from the original show and pretty much every Mission Impossible movie since.  It might be a little cheesy, but we love cheesy, especially when it's tied to something as awesome as this film.

For BMW's part, they're just excited that they get to try out some futuristic vehicles on such a huge stage.  Some of the more notable models in the movie include the 2012 6-Series Convertible, which is one of the most beautiful cars in the world right now, and the 2014 i8, which is a prototype of a plug-in supercar.  Both of them are plenty awesome, which means they're both plenty appropriate for this summer's most anticipated action movie.

If you drive a BMW in Florida, you're about to be the coolest kid on your block, at least after these vehicles show up in the new movie.  We've only got a few more months to wait until we're able to watch "Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol" in all its cinematic glory, so it won't be long until we buy our tickets, head to the theater, and see what we've all been waiting for-BMWs on the big screen.  Oh yeah, and Tom Cruise and all that, too.
