When it comes to designing, producing and marketing sustainable vehicles, the automotive industry certainly has a long way to go. But when we look at some of the most recent BMW cars, our Florida dealership can't help but be amazed by just how far we've come. In fact, it was the 2015 BMW i8 that recently earned the title of World Green Car at the New York International Auto Show, upholding the legacy of last year's winner, the BMW i3. The vehicle was also named a finalist in the World Luxury Cart category during the World Car Awards 2015.

The BMW i8 model was a no-brainer for this year's World Car Awards, offering state-of-the-art hybrid drive technology along with a lightweight construction and unmistakable design. The BMW i8 is truly ahead of its time, which is clear from its innovative materials to its energy-efficient production method.

The first plug-in hybrid model that BMW Group has manufactured, the BMW i8 is the perfect blend of sports car performance and subcompact fuel efficiency. The vehicle is able to travel as many as 23 miles on electric power alone, pairing an electric motor with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. Charging is as simple as plugging the vehicle into a conventional power outlet, stopping at a charging station or even fueling up on the road! Our
BMW dealership can't wait to see what BMW Group develops next.

The World Car Awards launched in 2005 at the New York International Auto Show. Winners are determined by a jury of 75 journalists representing more than 20 countries. Leading up to the award ceremony, the Expert Committee of jurors nominate five vehicles in each of the World Car Design and World Green Car categories as well as 10 vehicles in each of the World Car of the Year, World Performance Car and World Luxury Car categories. The jury then names three finalists from among which the winner is announced each year in New York.
