In order to really reach a consumer base in today's society, advertisers have to get creative. Back in the early days of advertising, it was easy as splashing some color on a poster or coming up with a creative slogan, but today things are a little more challenging. If you're going to pay good money to run an ad on national television, you better bring your A-game to the table.
That's exactly what we think our marketing division at BMW has done with the latest commercial for the 2012 BMW M5. The ad, which you can view in its entirely here, is entitled "Bullet" for reasons that become pretty obvious the minute you hit the play button and watch the M5 in action.
For those that can't access YouTube or maybe just have some sort of moral protestation against the video site, allow us to explain what the spot contains: The '12 M5 gets shot out of a giant shotgun barrel, and then hurls at top speeds (155 mph for this particular model) at targets on the course. Like those super-slow-motion bullet videos you watched in science class back in high school, the video slows down to show the M5 shredding through an apple, some water balloons, and eventually a shooting target like they were nothing.
Lakeland car dealers constantly struggle with how to best get into the heads and hearts of their customers, but sometimes it just takes a really good, well-executed advertisement to get the job done. That's what this one is, and if you don't believe it, take a look for yourself:
