At Fields BMW Lakeland, we consider the BMW brand to be an international icon. From our own dealership in Lakeland to the brand's home base in Munich, we know that the BMW symbol and stance are effective and enduring, and we are always proud to support it.

We can think of no better way to demonstrate the brand's strength as an international icon than by utilizing its partnership involving a cherished American icon. That's why we're excited to announce that the M1 BMW Art Car created by pop artist Andy Warhol in 1979 is just as strong and spectacular as it was 34 years ago. In fact, BMW presented the model at the inaugural Los Angeles Fair last month in conjunction with Paris Photo, celebrating a 10-year partnership.

The presentation included rare footage of the artist at work on the outstanding vehicle. In designing the car, which originally raced in Les Mans, Warhol strove, in his words, to "give a vivid depiction of speed. If a car is really fast, all contours and colors will become blurred."

Warhol's Art Car is just one in the Art Car Collection that has been developing since 1975 and now features 17 exhibits showcasing the artwork of such notable artists as Jenny Holzer, Robert Rauschenberg, Olafur Eliasson, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Frank Stella and Jeff Koons. The collection gives artists throughout the world the opportunity to create models that symbolize the spirit of their generations through technology and design.

At our Lakeland car dealership, we relish every opportunity to celebrate the heritage that our brand is able to share with its fans and supporters, including all of the art, technology and culture that have made it great throughout the years.
