As the country makes plans for this Sunday's big game, the staff at our Lakeland BMWdealership knows that all eyes will be glued to the TV, and we can't wait to see the reception of the BMW brand's presence.

Recently, the automaker premiered its 60-second TV spot supporting the all-electric 2014 BMW i3 model, which is set to air during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLIX on NBC this Sunday. This will be the first time the BMW brand has advertised during the Super Bowl in four years, and boy do they have great news to share!

The "Newfangled Idea" spot featuring Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel is in part a "throwback" to the now-famous Today Show clip from 1994 where Couric and Gumbel search for the answer to the question "what is the internet?" In 2015, the pair struggles to wrap their minds around the concept behind the all-electric 2014 BMW i3. It will be the first time that both Couric and Gumbel have appeared in a national brand advertisement.

The high exposure that the Super Bowl provides is an excellent venue for the brand to educate the public about the "newfangled idea" of electric mobility. This vehicle is a solution to the mobility challenges that many of the most densely populated cities of the world face today, and it's the first BMW i vehicle built primarily out of carbon fiber.

Developed and executed by KBS, the 2014 BMW i3 campaign also includes digital and social activations. Get a sneak peak of "Newfangled Idea" on the BMW of North America YouTube channel.
