This year, the 2020 BMW X5 offers up a new base trim, the 40i, which comes with rear-wheel drive. It joins the AWD xDrive 40i and a pair of V8-powered xDrive 50i trims, one of which creates up to 523 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque. 

If you choose to include the Off-Road package in your 2020 BMW X5, you'll get to enjoy its mechanical locking rear differential and air suspension which help you enjoy rougher terrain. Add a tow package and you'll get a factory-installed hitch and wiring, all of which helps your vehicle tow up to 7,200 pounds. Not to mention, there's plenty of advanced technology on hand for safety, entertainment, and more.

2020 BMW X5 Safety and Special Features

Like other new BMW SUVs, the 2020 BMW X5 is engineered for safety. The IIHS named the new BMW X5 a Top Safety Pick+ when equipped with active safety features like active blind spot detection, Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, and LED headlights.
