New BMW iPhone App Opening Up New Roads

The best applications for phones and other smart devices are the ones that actually serve a purpose that people didn't even know needed serving.  I'll give you an example of one of my favorites right now-the app from national pharmacy Walgreen's.  In the past when you wanted to refill a prescription, you had to either go into the store and order it and wait, or you had to call up on the phone or login into an internet account to set a time for pick-up.  Not that any of those things are particularly inconvenient, but what's even more convenient is one tap of your phone, which scans the barcode on your prescription bottle and automatically orders the refill.

I never even knew I wanted an app that did such a thing, but now that I've got it I can't imagine living without it.  BMW drivers are about to feel exactly the same way about The Ultimate Drive application offered from BMW Financial Services.

If you drive a BMW in Florida, you know that there are plenty of excellent roads on which to cruise your automotive beauty, but this app gives you the potential to open up even more on-road possibilities.  When opening the app, the phone's GPS locates where you are and then pulls up a number of driving routes near you that have been created and rated by other users.  You can organize them all according to the way they've been rated, and then you just choose the one that looks the most entertaining and go on your merry way.

You've also got the opportunity to create your own routes using the service.  If there's a back way to a location you've always loved, share it with the rest of your BMW community and hope to goodness that someone else gets as much enjoyment out of the excursion as you do.
