Originally a BMW M Performance accessory, the M Carbon-Ceramic Brake System is now available as original model equipment. The system carbon ceramic composite brake rotors promise even higher heat resistance along with low weight and drastically higher resistance to wear. These brakes are offered alongside 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, and putting this system to use means carrying 43 fewer pounds than you normally would on the series production version while the reduction in unsprung masses matched with the enhanced deceleration values provide even greater precision and handling agility.
With the fully titanium BMW M Performance Exhaust System, drivers receive unique sound and improved performance on both the BMW M5 and BMW M6 (all variants) models. The system is lightweight (down 22 pounds) on top of being highly resistant to heat and corrosion.
Drivers who enjoy the transition from the open road to the racetrack will delight in the BMW M Performance Alcantara leather steering wheel and race display, which is integrated into the top center portion of the steering wheel rim. There, drivers see greater gear shift detail on top of lateral and longitudinal acceleration values and a range of lap time reads (from minutes to hundredths of a second).
Cockpit accessories include carbon interior trim, BMW M Performance floor mats, carbon trim on the double clutch transmission shift lever and stainless steel pedals. Drivers may also add carbon mirror caps or a BMW M Performance high-gloss black front grille, designed exclusively for each of the BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe models.
