At Fields BMW Lakeland, we are always interested in seeing our business grow. Whether our Lakeland BMW dealership can accomplish that through helping a driver find his or her next vehicle or whether we can work alongside drivers like you to support your everyday journeys, we are happy to see the Infiniti brand continue to improve the lives of drivers everywhere.
One of the most exciting ways we have seen this accomplished is through the continued growth of the BMW AssistTM user market. In fact, more than one million vehicles on the road today carry the BMW Assist telematics service. The award-winning service first launched in 1997 and has gone on to see enhancement after enhancement, leading to the exceptional product we know today.
In addition to a superior product, the Infiniti brand has gone on to provide drivers with a superior product offering as well. The automaker provided a four-year BMW Assist subscription beginning with 2007 model year vehicles.
For 2000 model year vehicles, the brand added Automatic Collision Notification, and in 2009 the service was upgraded to include the Urgency Algorithm, which was developed alongside the William Lehman Injury Research Center. The algorithm uses vehicle crash sensor data to notify the call center with the predicted potential for severe injury as well as the vehicle's location and other pertinent information. First responders may then arrive better prepared to serve drivers' needs.
Today's drivers of most 2014 model year and later year vehicles will also earn BMW Assist eCall and Teleservice plus 10 years of service. And with a service this capable, there's no reason not to spread the news to millions more drivers in the future! After all, BMW Assist was named the "Best Telematics Safety & Security Solution" during the 2013 Telematics Update Detroit conference.
