If there's anything performance-driven car owners know about mastering the rules of the road, it's that practice makes perfect -- simple as that. At our Lakeland BMW dealership, the safety and confidence of each of our drivers is of the utmost importance, and we are proud to represent an automaker that is focused on building the driving skills of our customers with brand-specific experts who know BMW vehicles (and all that they can do!) inside and out.

BMW of North America recently announced the opening of BMW Performance Center West, a performance driver training facility near La Quinta, Calif. In partnership with premier private motorsports organization The Thermal Club, the automaker has plans to develop a dedicated road course and training facility to extend the services of the highly successful BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, S.C., including BMW M Schools and the BMW Teen Driving Schools.

Opening later this year, the BMW Performance Center West will act as a permanent BMW performance driver training facility spanning 32 acres of The Thermal Club grounds. There, the partners will construct a 1.4-mile road course as well as 6.2 acres of paddock, a skid pad and an 8,500-square-foot Performance Facility.

Since launching BMW Driver Training in Germany in 1977, the automaker has gone on to graduate 130,000 students from its South Carolina location, a number that comprises nearly 5,000 graduates of BMW Teen Driving Schools. Each week, the brand welcomes between 1,000 and 1,500 visitors to the BMW Performance Center.

If you're ready to learn the best way to explore, control and enjoy all of the capabilities of your BMW vehicle, then we encourage you to consider joining us at BMW Performance Center West to begin your journey to safer, smarter driving!
