This is because BMW went ahead and announced their plans to enable drivers to be able to summon their vehicles by way of their smartwatch for a savvy self-parking system. If all goes well, this technology will be integrated within a BMW i3 electric research vehicle.

How Does It Work?

This technology is based upon the use of four laser scanners that are on-board the BMW prototype. Basically, it works to help the vehicle to navigate throughout all of the twists and turns that a vehicle needs to make throughout a parking garage. The steering, propulsion and braking are all fully automated.

Why A Smartwatch?

More and more people today are using a smartwatch as a way to make their life easier and to add a little something extra to their cellular phone technology. BMW is making it so that the vehicles that have the system are fully capable of responding to orders that are spoken into the smartwatch through the BMW application. You are basically able to have your vehicle pick you up and then drop you off when and where you want, all through the smartwatch.
