BMW just unveiled the latest addition to its M Performance line, the BMW X4 M40i, and we here at Fields BMW Lakeland wanted to be the first to tell you about the sporty crossover’s decidedly assertive features. This hotly anticipated mini SUV rates high on the style meter and is equally adept at handling your off-road adventures as it is your daily commute.

Noah Joseph of Autoblog writes that this model boasts a number of improvements over others in the X4 line, and we agree. We think you’ll like its oversized leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED fog lamps, sport seats and metallic accents. Its standard wheels are already substantial at 19 inches, but you can spring for a 20-inch set in addition to some Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. And you have plenty of opportunity to customize your vehicle even further – choose from a palette of seven eye-catching hues for your exterior paint job, six colors for upholstery and four different trims for the interior.

The real highlight, though, is this model’s massively upgraded driving performance. Its turbocharged in-line, six-cylinder engine brings you 355 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque biased toward the rear wheels, allowing you to go zero to 60 in about 4.7 seconds. Variable steering allows for the most precise of handling, while the upgraded braking system gives you the ability to decelerate at a moment’s notice. A relatively low weight and compact frame make for excellent fuel economy. So go ahead and rev that engine, because the double-flow exhaust system beneath you will deliver one satisfying growl.

You won’t find this model at your local dealership until February, and we hope you’re as excited as we are about seeing it then. In the meantime, come visit us, your Lakeland BMW dealer, to see our existing inventory of new and certified pre-owned BMWs.
