Recently announced, the 2016 BMW M2 model will be available for purchase as early as next April. This coupe model features a rear wheel drive system with a turbocharged 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine. The output from the coupe is listed at 365 bhp, going from 0 to 60 in under five seconds, even less with effective launch control use. The top speed for the M2 is listed at 155 mph, but buyers can request a package that boosts the top speed up to 165 mph. The engine also produces up to 343 lb-ft in torque, reaching maximization at around 1400 and 5560 rpm. However, if drivers enable the Overboost Function, peak torque can be raised to 369 lb-ft, seeing the full power at around 1450 and 4750 rpm.

Buyers will have the option of choosing between a standard six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gear box, which gives drivers both automatic and manual settings.

Other features include a newly structured front bumper using winglets to maximize cooling air flow to engine ducts and additional bracing between the suspension towers, creating more boost within the steel body of the coupe.

Taking a look at the interior, the M2 holds a leather-bound M Sport steering wheel, a center console kneepad for the driver, and an aluminum footrest. The seats will be available in black leather with adjustable side bolsters. This model will act as a follow up to the BMW 3 Series.
