The 2017 BMW X1 is one of our favorites -- it's definitely a driver's SUV! It comes equipped with a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 228 eager horsepower and a powerful 258 lb-ft of torque. It offers available BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive, and boasts a responsive and sporty chassis and suspension system that delivers outstanding grip and confidence-inspiring handling. Its interior is just as impressive, offering an advanced iDrive operating system and an available 8.8-inch display screen, and an optional 360-watt, 12-speaker HiFi system.
According to Car and Driver's Joe Lorio, writing on the magazine's website, "Delivering excellence in the nascent subcompact-luxury-SUV segment is more difficult than one might think, thanks to the inherent difficulty in marrying the often disparate notions of luxury and small size. The BMW X1, however, is one baby luxo-ute that lives up to the badge on its hood."
