You may have heard that there's a new 2018 BMW X3 on the way. You may have also heard that the 2018 BMW X3 will be built in the same US-located plant that builds the current BMW X3. But did you know the automaker has been building cars here in the US for 25 years?

The 2018 BMW X3 is expected to be available later this year from your friendly neighborhood BMW dealership serving Winter Haven, FL. It follows the popular and sporty, luxurious and stylish 2017 BMW X3 which you can find available in our inventory here at Fields BMW Lakeland.

The BMW X3 comes from a facility announced by the automaker on June 23, 1992. It began production of BMW vehicles on September 8, 1994, and began producing the BMW X3 in 2003. Since then the plant has produced more than 1.5 million BMW X3 models.

"[Our] success story in the US would not have been possible without the open arms and warm hearts of the people and elected officials in the great state of South Carolina and the surrounding region," said Harald Krueger, BMW AG Chairman of the Board of Management.

The BMW facility that builds the 2017 BMW X3 and the upcoming 2018 BMW X3 is the automaker's largest plant, with production capacity of approximately 1,400 vehicles a day and more than 450,000 vehicles every year. Last year the facility produced a record 411,000 vehicles including BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, and BMW X6 vehicles for distribution to more than 140 countries all over the world.

And the automaker has big plans to continue their success here in the US.

"I remain confident that our footprint and commitment will continue to grow not only in the great state of South Carolina, but also in the United States in the years to come," said Krueger.

The BMW X3 is a great success story, built on the success of the automaker's facility now celebrating 25 years here in the US.
