Two Engine Options in the 2020 BMW 3 Series
If you've driven one of the previous BMW 3 Series models, you've experienced its turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2020 BMW 3 Series returns with 255 horsepower and more low-end torque in the 330i.
This series also has a new six-cylinder engine option: the M340i xDrive. The BMW M340i goes beyond your expectations of a standard six-cylinder engine by producing 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, which helps you accelerate faster.
Improved Performance and Dependability
With this power increase, even the 330i engine takes you from zero to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The BMW M340i takes it to the next level, achieving the same speed in 4.1 seconds (4.4 seconds if you have the rear-wheel drive).
The eight-speed automatic transmission in both engines means you won't see any lag or delays with either engine, and you'll feel the difference from earlier models. With these new engines, you can get 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. Drive the BMW M340i and you'll see 30 mpg on the road.
