Base models come outfitted with a turbocharged V6 engine that delivers a formidable 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the 750i xDrive trim outfits the vehicle with a powerful 4.4-liter V8 engine rated for a whopping 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
However, the undisputed champion of the model line is the 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that outputs a searing 600 horsepower with 620 lb-ft of torque.
For the environmentally-minded driver, there’s even a plug-in hybrid model that combines the base V6 engine with dual lithium-ion battery motors to achieve 389 horsepower and 17 miles of all-electric range.
In contrast, the 2022 Genesis G90 only offers two powertrain options, and while its base V6 is rated for slightly more horsepower than its rival, the well-crafted V8 and V12 powertrains available on the BMW 7 Series leave the competition in the dust.
