As far as innovative music services for the automobile are concerned, Pandora has pretty much gotten all of the buzz so far.  In a way, we suppose that's fair enough considering Pandora's unique way of helping users find new artists similar the ones they already love has certainly helped expand fans' love of music.  But there's more to streaming music than just Pandora, folks, and BMW never has been one to discriminate.

Let us introduce you to MOG, a streaming service that's very, very different from what we've grown accustomed to using with Pandora.  With over 13 million individual songs in their archives, MOG actually allows users to call up a specific song whenever they want.  It's not like with Pandora or even regular radio where you have to wait patiently for the songs you love; simply type in the title, and thar she blows.

Of course, this isn't something you'd want to do while driving, but if there's a passenger in the car you can certainly designate them temporary mix-master.  Or, if you don't trust your music to anyone else, you can actually create playlists ahead of time and run them through the MOG app on your smartphone.  Too lazy to make your own playlist?  Preexisting ones are out there, too, including playlists for individual artists.  Unlike Pandora, which would sprinkle in some Dave Barnes and Matt Wertz when you typed in John Mayer, MOG can give you straight up Mayer for as long as you want it.

Lakeland car dealers are currently offering this service in BMW and MINI vehicles for $9.95 a month.  It's completely unlimited, and can be run through your phone, so when compared to what you might spend on MP3's or CD's in a given month, that doesn't seem like too bad a deal.  Things only get sweeter when you consider bumping these custom playlists in a gorgeous 2011 BMW. In Florida, fans of our vehicles rarely have anything to complain about, and music certainly isn't going to suddenly become a new gripe.  Between Pandora, MOG, and satellite radio options, entertainment in one of our vehicles should never be a problem.
